JACKSON COUNTY, MI – Putting hard work and passion into everyday life is nothing new to Cheryl Ross. Ross, 68, grew up on her family’s Hillsdale County dairy farm, where she would wake up early every day to milk the cows with her older sister. Being the two youngest of the family’s seven kids, they ended up with most of the responsibility of chores at the farm when their older siblings left home, she said. While most kids would hate the amount of work they did, she said she enjoyed being busy and would put in 100% effort. “(The work) never bothered me,” Ross said. “I was kind of a bossy kid.” This love for hard-work and dedication drove Ross to keep succeeding, eventually opening her own cleaning business and becoming a published author. Her positivity, faith and family keep her motivated to succeed, Ross said.
